Setting Examples

By Heather from St. Andrews

We have two small children in the house, ages 5 and 14 months. To encourage healthy living, as a family we've decided to work together and set good examples for the kids by eating grapes, bananas and apples off our own fruit trees rather than having pancakes, sugar cereals and bacon in the mornings. It's working - our 14 month old loves grapes and bananas and our daughter chose strawberries and honeydew melon over cookies and pie at our local church social! Last Sunday we walked to the playground and plan to make this a weekly ritual. Not only are we doing things together as a family, we're healthy as a New Brunswick family, too!
